Bisquick – Gluten-Free

I was browsing around the Live Gluten Freely page the other day and saw some promising progress on the Gluten-Free Bisquick front. There is now a page up with more details about the product and many recipes.

When I was growing up my mom used to use Bisquick for a number of recipes. The one that sticks out in my head is a chicken and cheese casserole with Bisquick biscuits on top. I can’t even tell you what was in that casserole other than chicken and maybe cheese, but I loved those biscuits!

After browsing through the recipes on the Bisquick page I think that the Strawberry Shortcake will be added to my “must make” list, as will the Chicken & Dumplings and the Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake.

Keep an eye out for this box on the shelves in your local grocery store:

WOW!! I hadn't heard. This is big!

  • Great info, thanks Kim! Are they sending samples to bloggers to review??? ;-)

I tried the gluten free Bisquick this past weekend. It was awesome! I have been following a gluten free diet for 7 + years and was absolutely thrilled with the results! I hope everybody supports them for giving us one more option!!!!

Happy to see it is finally here! I had heard about it for a while, and the wait is over!

Celiac is not a fun thing to be. This makes life just a leeeetle itty bit better :)

  • Steve

This sounds awesome! I've been diagnosed w/ Celiac since I was 21 and am now 29. I've got a small quandry I was hoping to get some insight on. I'm a fireman and as the culture goes in the fire service, you don't complain/ask/request/etc…about anything special. As in, I've only got 2 years in and have not promoted my way up to the point where people will do more of what I want than what they want. Any ideas on how I can subversivley incorporate more GF meals into the firehouse without raising too many eyebrows?

what stores are you finding this?

  • Kim

J – It has not hit the shelves yet. It is estimated that it should be on shelves by late July.

Steve – Short of preparing the meals yourself or bringing in something separate, I think the only way is to be upfront & honest about your condition. I understand there is a "culture/code" there, but this is your health. Surely your peers wouldn't want you to be sick or damage your body, right? I wish you luck and please keep us posted on how this goes.

I found this product in my Publix grocery store. My husband is on a GF diet. I have already used it for a pizza base and for the chicken fingers recipe on the box. My husband prefers my pizza base to the Bisquick one but we both absolutely loved the chicken fingers. Great product!

What are the ingredients of the new Bisquick? Can't find them on their website.

  • Angela – Thanks for sharing with us!! :)

Yvonne – I will shoot an email to my contacts at GM/Live Gluten Freely and ask them. I couldn't find the info either.

  • yvonne

Thanks. I just did a roundabout search. Found the info, though they don’t make it easy.
I did a google of Bisquick. That took me to B.Crocker’s designated area. THEN did a nutritional fact info, that took me to a list of all the Bisquick mixes. After, I hit gluten free and voila, got the info. Good luck :)

    Thanks for your info.

Found the Bisquick Gluten Free at my Ralphs so I made the biscuits using the recipe on the back and they were really good. My daughter said that I could make them again!

I'm so excited!! Can't wait to find this and use it for sure! Thank you!!!

Love this. Hubbie made waffles, they are awesome. I take one everyday to work they reheat great. With sugar free syrup and a banana on top to die for.

  • Kim – Guess she liked them! ;)

    Phyliss – Sounds great!

  • I recieved a box of Gluten Free Bisquick recently. After having tried numerous other mixtures for pancake/waffle/biscuits and other coatings or combos over the years… I have to say that this is the best on the market to date. Finally the pancakes and waffles have not only a good taste, but are moist and hold a good texture. I made the blueberry biscuits… it is so hard to eat just one. I have since made Chicken & Dumplings and the Fruit Swirl Coffee Cake… what a treat. This product now assists those on a gluten free diet to once again enjoy a good meal.

  • Kim

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I am so glad that you were pleased with the results. The fruit swirl coffee cake sounds really good!

I would love more recipes! I have celiac disease and have been so miserable because it's so hard finding food that doesn't hurt me. I am so thrilled with the Gluten Free Bisquick. i just happen to run across this page and had to say something. How can I get more recipes for/with this?

  • Debbie

    Love! Love! Love! the mix!

When I was a child, my grandmother made the absolute best waffles I have ever had in my life. I would beg to spend the night at her house just so I could eat her waffles the next morning. Her secret ingredient – wheat germ! Well with a Celiac diagnosis wheat germ is out of the question! However, if I substitute 1/4 cup of flax seed meal for the mix in a single recipe portion, I get the closest I've ever come to my grandma's waffles! They are hearty, nutty and delicious, and great left over for dessert.

I can't wait to try more recipes.

If you live in the Florida/GA area, the Publix and Greenwise stores carries it. Also check at a Walmart Superstore. I have seen it there as well.

If that doesn't help you, then contact the company. They might tell you with the zip code. Another suggestion is getting the UPC number from the company and giving it to the grocery manager in your area. They should be able to order it for you. Good luck

Anyone know where to buy Bisquick Gluten Free in either Greensboro, NC or Charlotte, NC ?

  • Violet

Try asking your local food chain if they can order this for you. Publix, here in Florida has ordered things for me that were newly out but not yet on the shelves. It won't hurt to try.

You can also go to the website:
and contact them to ask where in your area you can buy this.

Used the Bisquick Gluten-Free mix to make their coconut pie. Went like crazy with rave reviews from non-celiacs at our church supper tonight. Found the mix at our local Kroger in Corbin, KY.
