I was able to read this book a month or so ago and was really impressed with it. Not only are the pictures attractive to the adult eye, but to a young child’s eye, too. I’ve shared this book with my daughter (8) and God daughter (3) and they both loved the little girl (and her curly hair). Inspiration for the little girl in the book came from Chalmers’ own daughter, Morgan, who was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2008. The book helps explain what Celiac Disease is in terms that are easy for a younger child to understand. Topics covered in the book include foods that are safe for the gluten-free diet and ideas about what to do when your child needs to avoid gluten-containing food away from home and bring along something safe to eat. The book ends by talking about how eating is such a small part of life and concentrating on all of the fun things there are to do in life helps us keep a positive attitude. I love all of the positivity radiating from this book! It is easy to get discouraged with a new diagnosis, especially one that involves a major diet change like the gluten-free diet. Explaining all of the details can be made just a little easier (and fun) with a book like “Mommy, What is Celiac Disease?”

My son and me, November 2000. This is before we were gluten-free/diagnosed Celiac.

My favorite gluten free product is Udi's bread. I get it frozen at my local grocer's where you wouldn't expect to find it! We have a two year old on the tightest budget and time schedule imaginable, sometimes Udi's is the only gluten free bread-type product I will get to have all day.
When my daughter goes to sleep at night, I recall the GF Udi's grilled cheese I had for breakfast and it feels like an awfully long day! I would love to win a little variety LOL
Udi's bread! Udi's brought bread back
This is by far the most amazing gluten-free bread, and I also love their other gluten-free products!
I am in love with Gluten Free Bisquick. I am so glad that General Mills has started to make gluten free products and so is my husband. I have started to make is fresh biscuits again which is completely loves. Nothing is the same as the smell of fresh biscuits baking in the oven.

My favorite Gluten-free product today is Pamela's Chocolate Cake mix. On Thanksgiving I made a Chocolate Cheesecake Layer Cake and the entire family fought over the cake it was so delicious. No one had any idea it was GF until my daughter and I told them as we enjoyed our yummy treat!
Hard to pick a favorite, but King Arthur GF flour is my current favorite!
I think quinoa is my favorite. It's naturally gluten-free, one ingredient, and just as delicious as any bread when cooked. I can't get enough.

they loved it.
we love van's gf waffles
I love Mary's Gone Crackers! I have some crazy GF cracker fetish now, whether it's MGC, Blue Diamond, or Crunchmaster. I love them all for different reasons.
I have two favorites I cannot choose between…but both involve tangy lemon flavor! The Udi's Lemon Struesel Muffins are amazing. But I've also been ordering case lots of the Glutino's Lemin Wafer cookies, and they vanish far too quickly here! Lemon flavors rock!
Snyder's GF pretzels!

Udi's bread and bagels have changed my life. I had forgotten how delicious a sandwich could be until I found Udi's this year. It's the simple things in life, and Udi's has let me get back to feeling like a kid again, enjoying grilled cheeses and PB&J's. Sometimes, you just need to kick back and enjoy!
