You may be wondering why I am posting a “Wordless Wednesday” post on Thursday. Perhaps you can guess by looking at the pictures below.
Yeah, had to replace the hard drive in my laptop. IT girl, I am not. I have never wanted to throw my computer out the window more than I did yesterday. It was ugly. The manual part wasn’t that hard, it was the long, painful Windows recovery disk that had me draining the bottle of wine I had on the counter.
Now I am reinstalling all of my software and trying to return my settings back to how I like them.
Onto brighter days, right? I have some fun stuff coming up on Monday, so make sure to check back.

My son and me, November 2000. This is before we were gluten-free/diagnosed Celiac.

Ug comp issues are never fun. Hope you get it all worked out! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Enjoyed hearing your thoughtS!
I think I have it under control now. I hate to say that and have it all crash! LOL!
That is so frustrating! After the move I spent over an hour with ATT trying to get my internet up and running and I ended up being the one who fixed it!
OH, man!! Good for you for fixing it!!
Time out, you replaced it yourself? Kim, that's BA! Hopefully the new drive works well!
LOL! Yes, I replaced it myself. HP didn't give me much choice!
However, when I had issues after replacing, I called & told them that I wanted them to send me a new laptop and that this was crap! The laptop is under warranty – why do I have to fix it? Also, I wasn't interested in sending it to them when they suggested that after I already replaced the HD. I will be buying a macbook next time – no question.
All is working well now, however I have to reload all kinds of software, try to restore settings that seem to be missing (and pissing me off), etc. Basically I am starting over. Fortunately I saved my files on my external hard drive.
