It’s been a while since I have posted a weekly menu plan. I can make excuses, tell you all I have been cooking, but the fact of the matter is I have been busy and take-out has become a closer friend than I would like. Hopefully I can get back on track and make some [...]
Spring is technically 10 days away, but it is making short appearances here every few days or so. We have been above freezing for the past few days, but will dip below again, with possible snow on Wednesday. As frustrating as this is, I am trying to look at the forecast with a positive attitude, [...]
Welcome to the last week of January. I’d like to thank Mother Nature for reminding us it is winter. I tolerate cold decently until it gets below 20. After that, I whine and moan about cold toes and frozen noses. Tomorrow the wind chill is predicted to be -25 to -35 Sounds fun, huh?
Welcome to the second week of December! Our weather has been more like January with snow and ice storms. Kids had their first snow day last Friday and mom got to run on the snowy trail early Saturday with some friends.
What a great day for a run!!
What is that saying? [...]
Welcome to December! It really seems like we lost a week with Thanksgiving being so late this year, didn’t it? Christmas is 3 weeks from Wednesday, which means I better get on the ball. I still have Christmas cards to design, print and mail, not to mention the shopping list I have to complete!
Busy week ahead. The kids are only in school for two days, snow is on the way and my mom arrives tomorrow! Getting ready for the holiday isn’t just about cooking and/or baking, it involves cleaning. The quickest way to plow through chores is to divide and conquer. I wanted to make it fair, so [...]
Before I get started with the menu plan I want to take a moment to thank all who are currently serving and have previously served our country. I am not only sending thanks to those veterans, but to their families, too.
Monday – Burgers, baked steak fries and salad
Tuesday – [...]
Only 6 days to the Nationwide Columbus Marathon & Half Marathon. This will be my 4th time running the half and I can’t wait! There is such an amazing atmosphere and crowd support throughout the entire city during the race. This is one race that I don’t bother with headphones/music…I simply enjoy the sound of [...]
The past week has been pretty exciting in the gluten-free world. First, the news of gluten-free/allergen-friendly “center of the plate” Child Nutrition (CN) products for the school foodservice industry. Elevation brands and Slade Gorton come together to launch fish sticks and chicken nuggets that meet the strictest Child Nutrition guidelines. This makes me smile…simply because [...]
Here we are…September 30th. The year has flown by! The weather in Columbus is just about perfect right now…cool in the mornings and mid-high 70s by the end of the day. Days like this are meant for spending time outside, whether it’s running or pedaling the Cycle Tavern.
Tell me that doesn’t look like [...]
