I heard it through the grapevine that Chobani had several new flavors out, so I made it my mission to locate the new flavors & give them a try. Apparently the mango has been around for a short while, but it has somehow escaped my radar. I was so excited with my purchases, [...] Since it is a new year, it is time to address goals. I mentioned the other day that I had a goal to run 5 half marathons this year and several shorter races. In order to make sure that I am training as safely as I can, I began training last February by heart [...] January 1, 2012 marked my first race of the new year. Nothing like getting started right off the bat, right? The race didn’t start until 11 AM, which is perfect for the day after New Year’s Eve. I made sure to hit the hay early, but did partake in my share of wine [...] This year seemed to just fly by. I feel like I was just complaining about the cold & snow that we had last winter and here we are facing another winter (although this one seems to be much milder at this point). We usually don’t do much on New Year’s Eve and this year [...] Thursday my alarm went off at 4:20 AM, which is typical for a weekday. I hit snooze for 9 minutes and then there were no excuses. When I began getting up this early to run/workout 3 years ago, it wasn’t easy. I admit that there were many days in the beginning that I wanted [...] Today I am starting my day with a 4 mile race with 4000 of my closest friends out in Dublin, Ohio! Nothing like burning off some of your turkey dinner before you eat it, right? One of the main things that drew me to The Flying Feather Four Miler is the swag. Yes, there [...] A couple of weeks back I got an email with a deal to purchase a pair of Zensah compression socks at 50% off. The deal was through a Groupon-like website called Schwaggle by Active.com. The compression socks retail for $49.99, so for $25, this was a great deal. I have been wearing the Zensah [...] After suffering from an eating disorder in my past, I welcomed the gluten-free diet. Not only did I hope that it would make me feel better, but that it would help me take the focus off of calories & put it on the ingredients of what I was eating. I knew that it would only hurt me (mentally and possibly physically) to continue to weigh myself daily at that point in my training.
