Last night I met up with a bunch of other Celiac\/gluten-free people in Columbus.\u00a0 These are all people that I have met online, either through the blog world or Twitter.\u00a0 It was so great to put faces (and voices) with names and to meet some of their friends and\/or family members.\u00a0 Jay at The Gluten-free Post<\/a> was nice enough to organize this function with Z Pizza<\/a> for us.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once we all said “Hello” and sat down, we were given the gluten-free menu to browse over.\u00a0 I was very impressed by the selection of items that were gluten-free.\u00a0 Almost every style of pizza on the menu could be modified to be gluten-free.\u00a0 Heaven!!\u00a0 Also, they offered 2 different gluten-free beer choices!!\u00a0 They had New Grist<\/a> and Bard’s Tale<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I started off with a Greek salad.\u00a0 I was so excited about all the choices, I totally forgot to take a picture of it!\u00a0 HA!\u00a0 Aaron stayed home with the kids and I brought a co-worker of his who also has Celiac, Lindsay.\u00a0 Lindsay has only been gluten-free for 4 months, so she had yet to experience gluten-free beer.\u00a0 Lindsay & I\u00a0decided on 2 different pizzas to share.\u00a0 We ordered the Moroccan. (basil, eggplant, mozzarella, feta cheese, pesto & pine nuts) and the Mediterranean (mozzarella, feta, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, Greek olives, pili pili oil, and oregano.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pizzas were amazing.\u00a0 There is nothing like beer & pizza.\u00a0 Lindsay said she was “in heaven”!\u00a0 Lots of good sounds coming from the table at Z Pizza<\/a> last night.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As we were finishing up our chatting & dinner, the staff brought out some cookies for us.\u00a0 We all looked around like wondering if they were gluten-free and sure enough, they were!\u00a0 Coconut Macaroons & Peanut Butter cookies.\u00a0 OMG…they were amazing!!\u00a0 I asked where they got them from and turns out that they make them there!\u00a0 This place just kept getting better & better.\u00a0 This is a definite repeat visit place.\u00a0 THANK YOU Z PIZZA & JAY!!!<\/p>\n

After dinner some of us walked a few blocks down to Jeni’s Ice Creams<\/a>.\u00a0 I have never seen so many unique flavors!!\u00a0 I had to sample several before I made up my mind.\u00a0 I sampled the Sweet & Salty Caramel, Dark Chocolate, Lemon & Blueberries and a Pear & Riesling Sorbet.\u00a0 They were all amazing, but the Dark Chocolate was amazing…so smooth & rich!\u00a0 I got a kids size cup because I was already stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey.\u00a0 I seriously could have done without the salad, but I had to have it! LOL!\u00a0<\/p>\n

This was a great night!\u00a0 Great company, conversation & food.\u00a0 It was so nice to meet everyone and I hope to see you all again at the next dinner or get together.\u00a0<\/p>\n
