{"id":3280,"date":"2011-05-19T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=3280"},"modified":"2011-05-19T07:06:42","modified_gmt":"2011-05-19T11:06:42","slug":"gluten-free-chitter-chatter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=3280","title":{"rendered":"Gluten-Free Chitter Chatter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lots of mention of gluten-free and\/or Celiac Disease around the airwaves recently.\u00a0 It started the other day when Hannah was watching \u201cSuite Life on Deck\u201d.\u00a0 The boys were playing a game of poker and anted up a \u201cgluten-free cookie\u201d!\u00a0 Hannah came running into the kitchen in giggles to make sure that I had heard.\u00a0 It was really cute.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Then I had The Rachael Ray Show on in the background as I was playing with the little boy I watch and Rachael made sure to mention that the pasta in the recipe she was making could easily be subbed out for brown rice pasta to make it gluten-free.\u00a0 Kudos to RR for adding that part in!\u00a0 Check this out:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Penne with Grilled Summer Squash and Sweet Corn<\/span><\/h3>\n<h6>Ingredients<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>1 lb. penne pasta<\/li>\n<li>4 yellow summer squash (about 1 1\/2 lbs.) &#8211; halved crosswise and each half cut lengthwise into 3 thick slabs (Make Ahead! Grill the summer squash up to 2 days ahead of using.)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. EVOO &#8211; Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/li>\n<li>Salt and pepper<\/li>\n<li>2 tomatoes, chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/4 cups fresh corn kernels (from 2 ears of corn), or use frozen<\/li>\n<li>1 container (15 oz.) whole-milk ricotta cheese<\/li>\n<li>1 clove garlic, grated<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. chopped thyme (FINISH IT UP!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rachaelrayshow.com\/food\/recipes\/penne-grilled-summer-squash-and-sweet-corn\/\">Click here<\/a> for the instructions to cook.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theview.abc.go.com\/\">The View<\/a> follows The Rachael Ray Show here in Columbus.\u00a0 I normally don\u2019t spend mornings in front of the TV, but with all of the rain lately, it makes getting out miserable.\u00a0 The ladies carried on their usual chatter and I was only half paying attention until I hear \u201cElisabeth\u2019s Gluten-Free Recipes\u201d.\u00a0 My ears perked up in a hurry!\u00a0 Anytime I hear \u201cgluten-free\u201d or \u201cCeliac\u201d on TV, I pay attention.\u00a0 The more those words are out there, the better for us.\u00a0 Awareness is key.\u00a0 Cat Cora, Ming Tsai &amp; Marcus Samuelson were all in the studio sharing how to make easy gluten-free dishes.\u00a0 I can only imagine how good it must have smelled in there!\u00a0 The recipes that really caught my eye were the Red Grits &amp;
