{"id":3502,"date":"2011-07-26T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-26T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=3502"},"modified":"2011-07-25T09:33:30","modified_gmt":"2011-07-25T13:33:30","slug":"this-is-how-we-do-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=3502","title":{"rendered":"This is How We Do It&hellip;."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wlWriterHeaderFooter\" style=\"float: none; margin: 0px; padding: 4px 0px 4px 0px;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; width: 450px; height: 80px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/widgets\/like.php?href=http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=3502\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>I don\u2019t know why <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kjAsF0BcO8o\" target=\"_blank\">that song<\/a> is stuck in my head.\u00a0 I am weird and I know it.\u00a0 My mom and step dad came in town over the weekend.\u00a0 My mom loves <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/gluten-free-food-in-columbus\/review-california-pizza-kitchen-s-gluten-free-pizza\">California Pizza Kitchen<\/a> and was thrilled that they were now offering gluten-free pizza, so we had originally planned on heading there for dinner.\u00a0 However, earlier this week there was a lot of chatter on the net about CPK having some pretty <a href=\"http:\/\/celiac-disease.com\/california-pizza-kitchen-concerns\/\" target=\"_blank\">major cross contamination issues<\/a>.\u00a0 We decided it wasn\u2019t worth the risk and headed to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/gluten-free-food-in-columbus\/marcella-s-does-gluten-free-pizza-justice-review\" target=\"_blank\">Marcella\u2019s<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n<p>After having the pizza at Marcella\u2019s several times, I knew it was just as good, if not better than CPK.\u00a0\u00a0 After we were shown to our table, a manager made his way over to ask if we had any questions about the gluten-free menu.\u00a0 I was super-impressed that he came over to check in with us before I even had a chance to ask to speak with him.\u00a0 Big points!\u00a0 I explained that I had eaten there before and really enjoyed the pizza, but was curious to hear about the kitchen procedures to avoid cross contamination.\u00a0 From the description he gave me \u2013 separate everything, including ovens &#8211; I felt very comfortable.\u00a0 I went on to ask about the utensils, toppings &amp; sauces and everything is separate, like it should be.<\/p>\n<p>I thanked them for going taking all facets into consideration and went on to tell him why I was asking.\u00a0 I explained the procedures being used in the kitchen at CPK and he was appalled.
