{"id":3569,"date":"2011-08-04T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-08-04T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=3569"},"modified":"2011-08-03T19:58:30","modified_gmt":"2011-08-03T23:58:30","slug":"organization-or-lack-thereof","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=3569","title":{"rendered":"Organization or Lack Thereof"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wlWriterHeaderFooter\" style=\"float:none; margin:0px; padding:4px 0px 4px 0px;\"><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/widgets\/like.php?href=http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=3569\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none; width:450px; height:80px\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Since school starts in roughly 20 days, I thought it would be time for me to attempt to get organized.&#160; I get these crazy thoughts a few times a year.&#160; I love the idea of organization, I just can\u2019t seem to put those ideas into action.&#160; I like to call what I have going on \u201corganized chaos\u201d.&#160; More often than not, if you ask me to find something, I know exactly where it is.&#160; Don\u2019t ask me how, I think I have an odd sense of where I last saw a particular object.&#160; Just like my memory for phone numbers, though I don\u2019t seem to use that like I used to now that everyone is in my phone under their name and I rarely dial numbers anymore.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>I have tried numerous to-do lists \u2013 both online and off \u2013 with little success.&#160; I have several calendars \u2013 Google (which syncs to phone and iPad), kitchen wall and \u201cMom\u2019s\u201d calendar notebook.&#160; I have a notebook where I can handwrite to-do lists and a whiteboard in my kitchen for lists.&#160; I have observed several things about my methods:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I have too many options \u2013 I need to choose one &amp; stick with it <\/li>\n<li>I have too much stuff even though I throw away a lot.&#160; Hubby calls me a hoarder \u2013 LOL \u2013 I am a long way from a hoarder.&#160; He is just a minimalist and keeps nothing.&#160;&#160; I like to have mementos from my kids. <\/li>\n<li>I come by this honestly.&#160; I found out when venting to my mom the other night that she is the same way and has gone through the same thing.&#160; Thanks, Mom!&#160; <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none\" class=\"wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-winkingsmile\" alt=\"Winking smile\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/wlEmoticon-winkingsmile1.png\" \/>&#160; <\/li>\n<li>I need someone to set it all up and take away all options but one.&#160; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This has frustrated me to the point that my latest notebook is now title \u201cKim\u2019s Attempt at Trying to Get (and Stay) Organized\u201d.&#160; I figured with the kids starting back to school that I needed to do something.&#160; I have a ton of paperwork for school and all extracurricular activities.&#160; Not only do these need to be filled out, but kept in order so they can be found &amp; turned in when due.&#160; Yes, they expect me to hold onto them for a period of time.&#160; Yikes!&#160; <\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you do to stay organized?&#160; Do you use online task\/list methods or old-fashioned paper?<\/strong>&#160; <\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Make sure to check back tomorrow\u2026.fun gluten-free giveaway that will run all weekend and end late Monday!
