{"id":5309,"date":"2012-07-26T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-26T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=5309"},"modified":"2012-07-26T08:27:27","modified_gmt":"2012-07-26T12:27:27","slug":"bacon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=5309","title":{"rendered":"Bacon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You knew it was coming after the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/?p=5303\" target=\"_blank\">Wordless Wednesday post<\/a>, right?&#160; How can I not talk about bacon after that?&#160; While bacon doesn\u2019t really sound good to me while I am running (not much does), there is nothing wrong with refueling with a little bacon.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>I started to think of the ways that I like to eat bacon.&#160; Of course I like to eat it by itself, but I also like it in the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BALT (bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato) on gluten-free bread or bagel <\/li>\n<li>Topping on salad <\/li>\n<li>Topping on baked potato <\/li>\n<li>On a burger <\/li>\n<li>On chicken breast, topped with cheese and mushrooms \u2013 similar to the Alice Springs Chicken at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.outback.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Outback Steakhouse<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are a plethora of <strong>gluten-free bacon options<\/strong>.&#160; In fact, I am not sure that I have ever found bacon that did have gluten in it.&#160; If you have found bacon that has gluten, please share!<\/p>\n<p>Some of my favorite brands of bacon include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.applegatefarms.com\/hotdogs_sausage.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Applegate Farms<\/a> <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hormel.com\/products\/Variety.aspx?ID=7&amp;RecipesOnly=False\" target=\"_blank\">Hormel Black Label<\/a> <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.traderjoes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Trader Joe\u2019s<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Have you heard the newest craze?&#160; Bacon sundaes?&#160; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/bkbacon.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"bkbacon\" border=\"0\" alt=\"bkbacon\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/bkbacon_thumb.jpg\" width=\"317\" height=\"376\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">source<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>I just can\u2019t get into bacon in a sundae.&#160; But, chocolate and bacon?&#160; That actually sounds pretty darn good!!&#160;&#160;&#160; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/mo_Th.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"mo_Th\" border=\"0\" alt=\"mo_Th\" src=\"http:\/\/www.glutenfreeislife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/mo_Th_thumb.jpg\" width=\"244\" height=\"167\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hannah is a girl after my own heart \u2013 she loves her bacon!&#160; Anytime bacon is cooking in our house she comes running into the kitchen.
